Developer Advocate

About the role

Developer relations at DogeSMS is technical content + community presence + a feedback loop into product. The brief is not booth duty — it is being the public face of how we think about OTP delivery, agent-assisted operations, and carrier-side infrastructure for the engineers who would actually integrate our API. We expect to open this role when our public API surface stabilizes and our SDK story is ready for external advocacy.

What you'll do

  • Write deeply technical long-form content (engineering blog, conference talks, workshop material) on OTP infrastructure, agent ops, and SMS-adjacent topics that the actual builders would read.
  • Run developer community presence: GitHub discussions, Discord office hours, Hacker News engagement when our work is relevant — not for marketing reach, but for honest technical signal.
  • Close the feedback loop from external developers to product: pull repeated questions into doc improvements, surface integration friction in roadmap discussions, prototype the changes when the fix is small.

What we expect

  • 4+ years in developer advocacy, developer relations, or developer marketing at a technical SaaS — with a portfolio of content (blog posts, talks, libraries) that demonstrates the bar.
  • Strong technical foundation: you can read API client code in 3+ languages, write working sample integrations, and explain async/event-driven architectures without simplifying away the interesting parts.
  • Genuine respect for the developer audience — no growth-hacker tone, no recycled LinkedIn ghost-written posts. We want someone who builds technical authority over years.

Compensation

On the radar. Compensation is calibrated to local cost of living when we open this role — we publish bands when we begin interviewing, not before. USD-denominated regardless of jurisdiction, contractor or employment depending on your legal situation.

  2. Submit the talent pool form below; we reach out when we begin interviews, typically 4-8 weeks before a public hire.
  3. When the role opens, expect a process similar to our current active openings: a short async exercise, 1-2 conversations with the relevant team, and a scoped paid trial project. We do not run leetcode-style screens.
